5 tips to create engaging email newsletters

Creating engaging email newsletters will inform your donors and prospects, and elicit the response you're looking for. Here are our 5 top tips to make your email newsletter stand out in your recipients' inboxes:

1) Write a great subject line
Subject lines are the hook for any email newsletter. If this is a new initiative for your school or non-profit or you're sending to new prospects, it can help to prompt what format the email is in the subject line, for example “Welcome to our newsletter: Giving you the latest updates from Watford Girls”. Otherwise, statistics make great attention-grabbing subject lines, but make sure your subject line is short and snappy so it is optimised for mobile, where 47% of people check their emails!

2) Use an engaging template
Add images, videos and news articles to your dynamic email template available in the ToucanTech system. Use buttons to drive your audience to your website for further information and full articles, and use your branding to let people know where the email has come from.

3) Place your content in sections

4) Test your email!
