Advocacy is the one of the quickest ways to build trust and engagement across your wider community; in your school network, alumni and parents can be excellent candidates to become ambassadors. It can make all the difference to see a familiar face when receiving an event invitation, or having a contact in the same country to reach out to.
In this webinar, two leading schools and a university department will share their experiences of bringing together their community by empowering alumni, staff, and parents to spread the word and raise awareness of their online network through an ambassador programme.

Michelle Cruickshank, Alumni Relations Officer at the Institute of Development Studies in the UK, with over 7 years experience working with the IDS alumni community. During this time she has developed their extremely successful alumni ambassador programme, with ambassadors located in 37 countries around the world, who are the first point of contact in their country of residence for students (current and prospective), IDS alumni and IDS staff.
Deborah Eleftheriou, Head of Development at St Catherine’s British School, located in Greece, has . With the launch of their new platform, St Cat’s Connect, Deborah has been pulling out all the stops to build an inspirational and engaging experience for the parents, staff, students and alumni who are all invited to join - over 750 people have signed up already!
Britt Ellice, Development Director at Bishop’s Stortford College located in the UK. Britt has been instrumental in developing their community ambassador programme, which supports the Storfordian Foundation in engaging with alumni through events, alumni news and facilitating clubs, and has helped to register over 1,100 sign ups to the Stortfordian Foundation platform.
