Building Your Community |
The theme of 2022 looks set to be one of in-person reunions, however for many international communities, the switch to online events and communities helped to achieve connections with more of their global network than ever before. As restrictions ease in some parts of the world, how are international school development teams planning to reunite, both digitally and physically, in 2022?
The International School of Paris has been busy running a variety of alumni reunion events in the last year, focused around different topics such as the humanitarian and sustainable development project spearheaded by alumni of ISP, an ‘Arts & Alumni’ event to share practical advice for working in the creative industry during COVID, and to share an update from teachers on how the art department at ISP is adapting. Their feedback to the five virtual reunion events that took place last year was overwhelmingly positive, and they are looking to continue creating opportunities for alumni to reunite online during 2022.
The American School of Barcelona is connecting alumni through their new online alumni platform, through networking features as well as a new series dedicated to catching up with alumni in different classes. They featured collaborations between alumni businesses, spotlights on impressive careers and alumni experiences of attending ASB and how this fueled their journey. They also shared their annual review via their community website, for alumni to catch up on news about the school as well as events and activities within their alumni network.
The St Cat’s Connect platform, for the parents, alumni, staff and students of St Catherine’s British School Greece, promotes a range of events for the whole school community, both in-person and online. They found that their university fair worked well in an online format for alumni to join and share their advice from all over the world, and are re-running this in 2022. They are also planning to share a tour of the brand new upper school with alumni, whose donations helped to fund the new development. With their connected school community on one platform, they are also able to promote events to parents, such as the upcoming parents evening, via their community platform, making it easy to keep track of events and attendees all in one place.
As many events return to the calendar, it’s important to have a powerful events management system to keep track of attendees, send communications, promote your events & note down preferences. With an all-in-one system for alumni management that enables you to track event activity in a CRM synced up with your donor data, you can demonstrate the impact of your events more effectively.
