Building Your Community |
Don’t end up being tricked this Halloween - planning virtual events can seem haunting, but we promise it’s not as scary as it sounds! Here are some tips to help give your attendees a treat, and tricks to avoid!
TREAT
Plan your follow up ahead of time to give yourself plenty of time to make sure that your audience will take the steps you want them to after the event. Whether you’re looking to build relationships with potential major gifts donors, or to kick off for your new campaign with donations, build your follow up into your event strategy.
TRICK
Don’t be spooked by unruly or inappropriate technology! Spend time thinking about the kind of event you’re planning to run, and what kind of platform you’ll need to use, whether your audience will be able to use your platform, and how you can make it interactive.
TREAT
Having an event landing page is a great way to give more information, encourage sign ups and take any preferences all in one place. With ToucanTech, you can build event landing pages easily to give your guests a seamless experience.
TRICK
Don’t miss out on your tech run through! Always ensure that your presenters are comfortable with all the tools they’ll need to use throughout the event, and that you can have a smooth handover between speakers and into breakout rooms.
TREAT
If you’re hosting a bigger event, encourage your guests to get involved through social media. Share hashtags ahead of time and promote them at your event, to help spread the word about your event (and therefore your cause!). Ensure you have some sharable content ready on your own channels, for attendees to share if they wish!
